The Taiwan Exhibition & Convention Industry Show (EXCO TAIWAN)
is scheduled to take place at the Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1 from
Oct. 6 to 8, 2010. After the success of the EXCO TAIWAN 2009, and
seeing the potential of Taiwan’s exhibition and convention industry,
the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs
(MOEA) once again commissioned the Taiwan External Trade Development
Council (TAITRA) to organize this show.
EXCO TAIWAN will cover the entire range of MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) businesses, including related suppliers and service vendors. Exhibitor applications began on March 10.
The BOFT’s goal with EXCO TAIWAN is to showcase Taiwan’s excellent quality and professional service in the MICE industry. For the first time, the EXCO organizer will arrange one-on-one meetings between suppliers and buyers. In addition, the organizer will simultaneously host the Asia MICE Forum (AMF) at the Taipei Convention and Exhibition Center nearby to provide buyers and visitors the opportunity to witness the latest trends in the industry.
Thanks to its unique cultural and natural landscape, Taiwan has been one of the top locations for MICE tourism from mainland China. To further this development, EXCO TAIWAN will include for the first time a “Cross-Strait Area” to augment the exhibit’s other sections, including “EXCO Facilities,” “EXCO Businesses,” “Decoration,” “Education and Training,” “Peripheral Service Providers,” and “City Image.”
BOFT’s “Taiwan MICE Advancement Program,” which has helped to spur recent developments in Taiwan’s MICE Industry, will also participate in EXCO TAIWAN. The program will arrange for four sub-program booths -- “MICE Overall Implementation Project,” “MICE International Marketing and Promotion Project,” “MICE International Meetings Hosting Project,” and “MICE Training and Certification Project” -- under the theme “MEET TAIWAN – your preferred Asian MICE destination.”
EXCO TAIWAN was held for the first time last year and attracted 5,071 visitors from the industry, other businesses, MICE-related organizations, NGOs, governmental bodies, and schools from Taiwan and abroad.
